Legal Spotlight

NARIT & Associates cordially invites you to LEGAL SPOTLIGHT on:

“HOW TO CRACK THAILAND'S PDPA"

A practical course will talk you through Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act, B.E. 2562 (2019) (the “PDPA”). While the PDPA was enacted back in 2019, as recently as mid-2022, four more pieces of subordinate legislation under the PDPA are just enacted. Certain pieces of subordinate legislation under the PDPA have not been enacted yet. Although most (if not all) large conglomerates have already complied with the PDPA, many other businesses have not complied with the PDPA. Many PDPA questions have not been precisely answered.

We would like to invite you to this in-house mini seminar, even if your organization has already complied with the PDPA because this in-house mini seminar may offer you a different perspective. While our main clientele is MNCs, we believe this course should be useful and informative to both local businesses and MNCs alike.

In this in-house mini seminar, you will learn these crucial topics:

•   Short Overview of the  Personal Data Protection Act, B.E. 2562 (2019)
•   What is the Personal Data under the PDPA?
•   Who are exempt from the PDPA?

•   Who is the Data Subject/Owner? Who is the Data Controller?
•   Legal Bases for Processing the Personal Data
(i.e. Contractual Performance, Legal Obligation, Legitimate Interest
    and Consent)
•   Myths About PDPA (Misunderstanding About PDPA)
•   How Facebook cracks European Union’s General Data Protection
Regulation (the “GDPR”) in Europe and what corporate Thailand can learn
    from Facebook’s successful strategy.
